Detective Lexie Garner

I could call this the end of an era, but it hasn't felt long enough to be an "era."

Detective Lexie Garner was one of the first characters that I had fully formed in my mind when I started writing. She was part Dana Scully, part Buffy Summers, and she kicked ass.

Her story started with Devil's Charm. The adventure begins when Lexie investigates the murder of a fellow cop and discovers the murderer is not human. She is forced to delve into the unknown paranormal world.

With The Fifth Grave, she's pulled further into the bizarre. When she and her partner, Jacobs, are stranded in the forest during a snowstorm, she uncovers a creature lurking in the shadows.

The final book of the series, The Underground, takes her underneath Seattle where a secret army of monsters, led by the Alpha, is preparing to rise and take over the city. She discovers she's the only one with the power to stop the Alpha.

This year, I completed the final chapter of Lexie's story. She's come full circle, and even though it was bittersweet, I had to say goodbye. But, as with everything in the supernatural world, nothing truly dies. Maybe another Lexie Garner book will be in the future, but for now, this feels like a good stopping point for her.

It has been an incredible experience to write these books, and I'm forever thankful for the fans who've followed me and Lexie through the years.

There's no rest for the weary though. I'm hard at work on another book--a thriller this time. I can't wait to share it with you. Stay tuned!
